We are looking for a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join Team OB in our Chessington Warehouse. As a Warehouse and Logistics Manager at OB, you will be responsible for the warehouse and logistics departments and ensure the operation runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. This will include managing the goods in, put away, replenishment, stock control, picking, nightshift, and logistics teams. You will work closely with Team Leaders to coach and develop the wider team, having a strong presence throughout the warehouse area ensuring that all stock is received, picked, packed, and delivered in accordance with our store delivery schedule and standard operating procedures. Leading specific projects to help make improvements to warehouse and logistics processes and systems, working collaboratively with a variety of Support Office and Retail teams. Your priority will be ensuring that all teams and processes are working in accordance with our health and safety policies.

Our Warehouse is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo and we have onsite parking.

More about the role … An OB Warehouse & Logistics Manager will:

  • Work with the Team Leaders to recruit new Team Members for OB seasonal requirements.
  • Hold and take the lead in weekly team leader meetings.
  • Brief teams on any new initiatives and rollouts, always maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Recognise your team for a job well-done and celebrate team wins together.
  • Oversee the cross-training needs and work with the Team Leaders in all parts of the warehouse to identify opportunities.
  • Hold team members accountable for maintaining a clean, clutter-free work environment.
  • Actively seek feedback from direct reports and Head of Warehouse and Logistics to continue to improve leadership skills.
  • Cover the Head of Warehouse and Logistics when needed. This will include attending meetings and presentations.
  • Ensure that progress chats and appraisals with individual Team Members are delivered to maximize training opportunities, address concerns, and contribute to Team Member and Team Leader growth and leadership development.
  • Support Team Leaders to manage individual Team Member performance and behavioural issues and seek support with the People team to resolve them when needed.
  • Cross departmental communication to ensure the wider business needs are supported.
  • Drive process improvement efforts amongst the team.
  • Lead projects to support company growth year on year.
  • Identify ways to be more efficient and effective with safety, compliance, and productivity in mind while supporting health & safety representatives.
  • Evaluating workloads across warehouse departments daily to ensure that resource is deployed to the right areas based on business priorities.
  • Review KPIs daily to monitor warehouse and logistics performance, follow-up when necessary, with the Head of Warehouse and Logistics.
  • Building relationships with any third-party suppliers to ensure we receive the highest levels of service.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
