A high-growth B2B SaaS company is looking for a Vice President of Engineering to lead its engineering organisation through the next phase of scale. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, knows how to structure, and evolve high-performing teams, and is passionate about delivering exceptional software products.
Reporting to the CTO, you\’ll lead a growing engineering function of 50-100 people across multiple teams and disciplines. You\’ll be responsible for defining and evolving the engineering strategy, improving delivery performance, and enabling a culture of autonomy, quality, and continuous improvement.
Vice President of Engineering – day-to-day:
- Own the engineering operating model; from team structure to delivery processes to support growth and complexity.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment between technology and product outcomes.
- Drive technical and delivery excellence, using metrics (e.g. DORA) to measure and improve team performance.
- Influence architectural and platform decisions in line with the company’s long-term strategy.
Vice President of Engineering – requirements:
- Leadership experience in a scaling B2B SaaS environment , ideally with multiple product lines or platforms.
- Proven ability to design, grow, and lead distributed engineering teams through scale-up stages.
- Strong understanding of engineering operations, team dynamics, and performance measurement.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing short-term delivery with long-term tech strategy.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence at all levels, including C-suite and board.
