We’re partnering with a leading e-commerce business that’s scaling a modern, event-driven platform to support high transaction volumes and continued growth. They’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a highly capable engineering team working with Node.js, TypeScript and Kafka.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be building and evolving distributed backend services in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
The Role- Build, maintain and improve backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Some experience with React
- Develop and support event-driven architecture, with Kafka at the core
- Collaborate with product, frontend and platform teams to deliver scalable e-commerce solutions
- Contribute to system design, performance optimisation and best engineering practices
- Take ownership of services from development through to production
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Practical experience working with event-driven systems (Kafka experience preferred)
- Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability and reliability
- Experience working in complex backend environments (e-commerce is a plus)
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to build high-quality software
- Salary up to £70,000
- Hybrid working: 2 days per week in London
