We're looking for exceptional Senior Data Engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems at scale and want to work alongside some of the brightest engineers in the industry.

This is a full-time, office-based role in our Newcastle headquarters, offering the opportunity to have a significant impact on business-critical systems in a fast-paced financial environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build and optimise scalable data platforms and pipelines.
  • Develop high-performance ETL/ELT processes for large and complex datasets.
  • Build reliable, resilient and secure data infrastructure.
  • Work closely with software engineers, quantitative researchers and business stakeholders.
  • Improve data quality, governance and observability across the platform.
  • Drive engineering best practices, code quality and technical excellence.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical direction.

Requirements

We're looking for candidates with exceptional academic and technical credentials, including:

  • A minimum 2:1 degree from a leading university.
  • Extensive experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data platform engineering role.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java or Scala.
  • Expert SQL knowledge and experience working with large-scale data systems.
  • Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of distributed data processing technologies such as Spark, Kafka or Flink.
  • Experience designing scalable data warehouses and data lake architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, fast-moving environment.
