They’re now seeking a Principal Data Engineer to act as the technical authority for their data platform - shaping long-term architecture, standards, and strategy. This role goes beyond delivery. You’ll define the blueprint for a modern data ecosystem, lead complex architectural decisions, and set the engineering direction as the company scales.
What you’ll own:
- Design and govern the architecture of a greenfield, enterprise-grade data platform
- Lead strategic technical decisions across modelling, orchestration, warehousing, and cloud infrastructure
- Partner with senior leadership to influence data strategy and roadmap
- Set engineering standards and guide future team formation
Technical environment:
- SQL & Python at expert level
- dbt, Airflow, Looker
- AWS-first cloud environment
- Snowflake or similar warehousing technologies
