We’re looking for exceptional Senior Java Developers to join a high-performing engineering team in Newcastle, working on a greenfield technology programme within the finance sector.
This is an opportunity to shape new systems from the ground up, influence architectural decisions and build scalable, high-performance applications in a business-critical financial environment.
The Opportunity
- Work on a greenfield development programme, building new applications and services from scratch.
- Design, develop and deliver robust, scalable Java applications.
- Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards and key design decisions.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers, architects and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact financial technology solutions.
- Take ownership of complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience designing and building scalable, distributed applications and backend services.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices and modern development practices.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD and version control.
- A BSc degree from a leading UK university.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a demanding engineering environment.
- Willingness to work five days per week on-site in Newcastle.
Salary & Benefits
- £70,000–£140,000 base salary, depending on experience and capability.
- 10% bonus.
- Opportunity to work on a major greenfield finance technology programme.

Working arrangement: Fully on-site, five days per week
