£160,000 + benefits | London | Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days WFH)
We're looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of AI-powered products and platforms .
This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a genuine interest in Generative AI, LLMs and intelligent systems . You'll have significant influence over architecture, technical direction and how we bring AI capabilities into production at scale.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build and evolve high-performance backend services and platforms using Go (Golang) .
- Develop production-grade systems that integrate LLMs, GenAI APIs and AI-powered workflows .
- Work on areas such as RAG, agents, tool calling, prompt orchestration and model integration .
- Design scalable APIs, distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Own technical decisions from design through to deployment and operation.
- Collaborate closely with product, platform, data and AI engineers.
- Champion engineering quality through testing, observability, performance optimisation and clean architecture.
- Help establish best practices for building reliable, secure and scalable AI-enabled systems .
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the wider engineering culture.
What we're looking for
- Strong commercial experience building backend systems with Go .
- Excellent understanding of distributed systems, APIs, concurrency and scalable architectures.
- Experience building and operating production services in AWS, GCP or Azure .
- Solid knowledge of databases, messaging systems and modern cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Generative AI / LLM technologies and integrating models into real-world applications.
- Understanding of concepts such as RAG, embeddings, vector databases, agents or LLM evaluation .
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a pragmatic approach to solving complex problems.
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with other senior engineers.
- A passion for technology and a desire to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
The role
Location: London
Working pattern: 3 days in the London office, 2 days working from home
