Head of Technical Operations

Overview

Head of Operations – FinTech / Trading role at Oliver Bernard. London-based FinTech / Trading firm seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join the Senior Leadership team to improve processes, technical efficiencies, and roadmaps across tech teams.

This role presents an opportunity for someone currently operating at the Head of level to influence business operations across Development, Infrastructure, Build, Delivery and Product teams, with scope to influence the whole company. You’ll partner with C-Level executives and Heads of Department to build roadmaps, improve technical functions, and act as the glue between different teams in an embedded / cross-functional way.

Responsibilities

• Partner with C-Level and Heads of Department to build roadmaps and improve technical functions.
• Bridge gaps between Development, Infrastructure, Build, Delivery and Product teams in an embedded / cross-functional way.
• Lead operational initiatives to scale the function from an operational perspective, providing direction and roadmaps.
• Drive best practices across delivery, product and engineering teams; oversee DevOps / SRE related areas (Cloud, IaC, CI/CD).
• Support the organisation’s strategic goals through strong governance of engineering and IT operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Head of Operations capacity (minimum 4-5 years).
• Strong technical knowledge of Delivery, Product and Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in a Software Delivery role (from a Development background), with experience across DevOps / SRE functions (Cloud, IaC and CI/CD).
• Ability to drive best practices and lead teams from a technical perspective with roadmaps that enable scale.
• Strong knowledge of Agile processes; knowledge of AI and/or ML is a bonus.

Compensation

This position offers £100-120K, plus benefits, and operates a hybrid working model in London (3 office days per week).
