AI Application Security Engineer | AI / Cyber Security | £160-200K + Equity

Following significant investment and continued growth, the organisation is looking to appoint an experienced AI Application Security Engineer to take ownership of application and product security across its AI-driven platform.
This is an opportunity to join a highly technical, engineering-led environment where security is fundamental to product development. You'll work closely with product engineers, AI/ML specialists and infrastructure teams to design, build and implement security controls across sophisticated AI applications and agentic systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants to move beyond traditional security reviews and actively build the tools, frameworks and safeguards that make AI products secure by design.
Key experience required includes:
- 5+ years' experience in Application Security, Product Security or a closely related security engineering discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience securing modern applications and software development environments.
- A solid understanding of authentication, authorisation, secure coding practices, secrets management and application-layer security.
- Experience with threat modelling, security architecture reviews and identifying vulnerabilities across the SDLC.
- Familiarity with security tooling such as SAST, DAST and automated security testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience securing APIs, third-party integrations and complex application workflows.
- Strong programming or scripting capabilities, ideally using Python, Go or TypeScript.
- An understanding of data protection, access control and security considerations when handling sensitive or regulated information.
- A proactive, engineering-first mindset, with the ability to work closely with developers and deliver practical security solutions.
This role can offer £160-200K for the right profile, plus benefits, and is remote for UK based candidates.
