One of OB's long-standing clients is looking to add a Mid-Level AI Engineer to their growing team. With a global team of journalists and a diverse portfolio of content formats, the company produces around-the-clock coverage that informs and engages audiences across platforms, including strong performance on emerging social channels.

About the Role

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to help lead the application of artificial intelligence across the business. This person will explore and implement AI tools—from prompt design to agent building and predictive models—to improve newsroom workflows, support commercial teams, and drive product innovation. Working at the intersection of editorial, product, and technology, the ideal candidate will translate emerging AI capabilities into practical tools that serve both the business and its audience.

Responsibilities

  • AI Tool Development: Build and test intelligent systems to enhance editorial efficiency, commercial performance, and user-facing features.
  • Prompt Design & Testing: Experiment with generative AI to support summarisation, content recommendations, and workflow improvements.
  • Agent-Led Automation: Develop AI-powered systems that can automate routine tasks and assist with faster, more informed decision-making.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with internal teams—editorial, product, tech, and commercial—to identify where AI can add value and integrate solutions into real-world workflows.
  • Prototype and Iterate: Promote rapid testing and learning, using feedback to refine tools and measure their effectiveness.
  • Responsible AI: Ensure all AI use aligns with ethical standards and editorial principles, maintaining transparency and integrity.
