About the role: Working in partnership with our client (an internationally known B2B events organisation), the Head of PR will play a pivotal leadership role in elevating brand awareness and reputation across several global B2B verticals including Tech, Finance, Infrastructure, and many more. You will ensure strategically important event portfolios reach their PR goals and that PR is a high-performing, measurable growth driver. You will also drive the businesses central PR function to achieve brand-led targets.
We lead a central team within the client’s marketing department where they have an ambition to put the Saudi events industry on the global map. This central team owns the development and strategy of digital channels, and will understand and grow audiences and engagement through all digital touchpoints. The Head of PR will work closely alongside this wider team.
As Head of PR, you will set the PR vision, strategy and governance across the portfolio, lead the relationship with the PR Agencies (and any supporting partners), and embed robust OKRs, measurement frameworks and performance reporting. You will work closely with OLIVER’s existing PR Manager to integrate PR across our client’s full marketing ecosystem. You will be part of a team of over 50 OLIVER employees working with the client at a global scale.
This is a part time position and a 12 month FTC.
What you will be doing:
- Set and own the global PR strategy and roadmap across a leading B2B events business and specific event portfolios, aligning to commercial, audience and growth objectives.
- Lead and evolve the client’s PR operating model, governance and processes ensuring consistent quality, compliance and speed-to-market.
- Translate business priorities into clear PR OKRs; implement measurement frameworks, dashboards and methodologies to track share of voice, sentiment, media coverage, etc.
- Oversee the management and optimisation of the PR Agency relationship(s): scope, brief, budget, resourcing, ways of working, SLAs, performance reviews and continuous improvement.
- Provide senior counsel on reputation management, issues and crisis communications; build and maintain playbooks, escalation paths and scenario plans; lead incident response.
- Partner with the Vice President of Marketing and leadership team to shape the brand narrative, business vision and thought-leadership platform; oversee executive communications and spokesperson programmes, including media training and speaker prep.
- Lead Internal Communications strategy and delivery to promote brand values, business vision and narrative, keeping employees aligned and engaged.
- Oversee an integrated content and editorial calendar that fuels PR, social and digital channels.
- Oversee the integration of PR across marketing channels, email, social and SEO.
- Mentor and coach marketing managers and colleagues on PR strategy and best practice; foster a high-performing, collaborative culture across internal and external teams.
- Monitor and report on performance with senior-ready insights and recommendations; present regularly to leadership on progress, risks and opportunities.
- Stay ahead of trends in digital PR, social, measurement and AI-driven insights; evaluate and implement tools for media monitoring, social listening and analytics.
What you need to be great in this role:
- An experienced PR leader with 8–10+ years of agency and/or client-side experience in B2B environments.
- Proven track record of building and protecting brands through PR at a global or multi-region scale.
- Accomplished PR strategist with deep experience developing compelling brand, corporate and product narratives, and executive thought leadership.
- Demonstrable expertise in issues and crisis communications (planning, stakeholder alignment and real-time response).
- Strong experience building relationships with media, analysts, influencers and strategic partners.
- Hands-on experience managing PR Agency relationships.
- Outstanding writing and creative development skills; ability to articulate complex information clearly and simply.
- Expertise in reporting and articulating campaign performance (methodologies, dashboards, tools and technology).
- Excellent collaborator and communicator, effective with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams; confident presenting to executives.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment; detail-driven, self-starting and able to manage multiple projects.
- A real people person who can bring colleagues on the journey, coach teams and inspire agency partners.
- Experience across multiple industry sectors; B2B experience is a must.
