About the role: As Account Director, you'll own the client relationship and the delivery engine. Working across brand campaigns, always-on digital content, thought leadership and event and marketing collateral, you'll be accountable for account health, project governance, stakeholder alignment, and commercial performance. This is a hands-on senior role that demands both strategic thinking and operational discipline. You'll shape the partnership at a senior level while managing briefs, pipelines, compliance and brand workflows, and budgets with rigour and confidence.
What you will be doing:
- Client Partnership & Account Leadership
- Own the senior client relationship as primary point of contact for the client's marketing and communications team.
- Translate business priorities into clear studio direction and creative briefs.
- Chair status meetings, monthly business reviews, and strategic planning sessions, keeping the studio positioned as a high-value partner.
- Manage client expectations through competing priorities and regulated timelines, without compromising relationships or output quality.
- Proactively identify opportunities to grow the scope of the partnership.
- Project Management & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery across the full creative portfolio, from brief intake through production, approvals, and final output, across digital, social, print, events, and long-form content.
- Maintain full pipeline visibility, managing SLA frameworks, capacity risks, and project status across all in-flight work.
- Act as the consolidation point for all client feedback before it reaches the creative team.
- Build proactive project roadmaps in partnership with creative leads, supporting monthly planning and forecasting cadences.
- Compliance & Governance
- Manage compliance, brand and legal sign-off processes, ensuring all projects requiring regulatory review are flagged, tracked, and closed out with clear audit trails.
- Commercial Accountability
- Own account-level budget management: forecasting, purchase orders, spend tracking, and monthly financial reporting.
- Source and coordinate external resources to match delivery capacity with project demand.
- Flag commercial risks early and identify opportunities to grow account revenue.
- Gen AI & Agentic Thinking
- Integrate AI tools into project management and account workflows to improve planning efficiency, brief analysis, and status reporting.
- Apply agentic thinking to complex, multi-stakeholder delivery challenges, breaking competing priorities into clear plans and finding efficient paths through ambiguity.
What you need to be great in this role:
- Experience in a senior account management role within a creative agency, in-house studio, or content production environment, working directly with marketing leadership.
- Confidence managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities, including the ability to challenge, educate, and hold senior stakeholders accountable constructively.
- Familiarity with regulated industries, financial services, insurance, or similar, including compliance workflows, legal approval chains, and audit requirements.
- Fluency in managing high-volume, multi-channel creative portfolios with tight deadlines and competing briefs.
- Hands-on experience with SLA frameworks, tiered briefing processes, and feedback management protocols.
- Experience coordinating external delivery partners, media, transcreation, and production suppliers, alongside internal creative teams.
- Experience owning account-level budgets: purchase orders, spend reconciliation, and financial reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Confidence identifying and communicating commercial risks early.
- Working knowledge of AI tools that support planning, reporting, or brief analysis in a project management context.
- A structured, adaptable approach to complex problem-solving, able to break multi-stakeholder challenges into clear steps and maintain focus when priorities shift.
Formal degrees are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts. Experience can be gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
