About the role: The Global Programme Director – Social Media (Senior Program Director Social) oversees larger‑scale social media account portfolios with significant organisational scope. This role requires advanced delivery and operations abilities, deep expertise in social media content production and influencer management, and the capability to drive program vision while managing multiple priorities across diverse studios and external stakeholders. The Global Program Director is responsible for account gross profit and plays a critical role in forecasting and managing revenue with executive leadership.
What you will be doing:
- Direct medium to complex social media programs with budgets between ÂŁ10m and ÂŁ15m, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, platform priorities, and financial targets.
- Lead delivery and account operations with a focus on coordinating diverse studio teams across social content production, asset management, and influencer partnerships.
- Develop and drive program vision, managing organisational change while ensuring integrated outcomes across business functions.
- Establish KPIs, track performance, manage budgets, and implement corrective actions to optimise performance.
- Engage with executive leadership to forecast and manage revenue.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction through proactive communication.
Social Media Program Management & Delivery
- Run transformational social media programs centred around platform innovation, content production pipelines, and people, bringing all stakeholders together to ensure deadlines and publishing schedules are met.
- Accountable for the strategy around process optimisation for social media workflows, including understanding how to improve ways of working and enhance efficiency across asset production, approvals, and publishing cadences utilizing BTG tools.
- Coordinate activities of the project team with overall responsibility for delivery health of projects.
- Accountable for OMG hygiene, aiming for 0% OMG errors.
- Lead major transformation projects across social media content and influencer programmes, liaising with BTG key stakeholders and ensuring everyone’s elements are captured in overarching projects.
- Ensure regular reporting covering program status, significant risks and issues, and measured KPIs.
- Map processes and touch points across the program to ensure clarity, efficiency, and identification of interdependencies.
Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, building out complicated scenario planning across multiple brands and regions. Ensure cost efficiencies and manage tightly resourced teams to meet varying scoping requirements. Create and manage Corrective Action Plans to ensure GP targets are met. Accountable for all approvals that may affect GP; expenses, hiring approvals, freelancers, ad‑hoc resource needs. Model how tools, technology, and BTG solutions impact the OLIVER model. Secure necessary business approval on anything that impacts financial performance. Make strategic changes to people and cost base to meet GP targets. Identify and implement appropriate levers to optimise performance.
Social Media Platforms & Channel Strategy
- Hone understanding of the social media platform landscape, BTG tech and services suite, to identify opportunities, emerging formats, and channel‑specific challenges for clients.
- Ability to have high‑level conversations about social media strategy, platform capabilities, and content solutions with clients and know when to bring in channel specialists or creative experts.
- Design solutions based on commercial considerations, people resources, content production capabilities, and platform technology to meet client social media needs.
- Apply learnings from transformation phases to refine approaches.
- Partner with SLT on social media solution packaging, channel strategy selling, and influencer programme proposals.
- Demonstrate a platform‑minded approach with strong knowledge of relevant social channels (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X/Twitter), content management systems, social listening tools, influencer platforms, automation, AI, and SoM.
Asset Production & Influencer Management
- Oversee end‑to‑end social media asset production across formats (static, video, motion, stories, reels, and platform‑native content), ensuring quality, brand consistency, and on‑time delivery at scale.
- Establish and maintain robust production workflows that support high‑volume, always‑on content output across multiple platforms and brands simultaneously.
- Lead influencer and creator partnership programmes from strategy through to execution, including talent identification, briefing, contracting, content approval, and performance measurement.
- Ensure influencer campaigns are delivered compliantly (ASA/FTC guidelines), on‑brand, and in line with client KPIs around reach, engagement, and conversion.
- Champion the use of influencer management platforms, DAM systems, and AI‑assisted production tools to drive efficiency and quality across content output.
Resource & Team Management
- Oversee the resource scheduling department and utilisation to ensure efficiencies through streamlined approaches.
- Look across the wider account or larger OLIVER teams to ensure people are utilized properly.
- Work with Client Services and Resource Manager on pipeline planning of resources to ensure team structure is correct.
- Hold team accountable for meeting established KPIs.
- Ensure account operational success, meeting both client and OLIVER's needs.
- Support with building and develop the team, providing leadership and mentoring.
- Ensuring there is a clear RACI per discipline.
- Working with client leadership to ensure reporting lines are correct.
What you need to be great in this role:
- 20+ years of global program/project management experience, with a significant focus on social media, content production, or digital marketing.
- Proven expertise in overseeing large‑scale social media account portfolios, including asset production operations and influencer or creator partnership programmes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire large teams.
- Advanced organisational skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities.
- Robust client management and strategic planning abilities, with an understanding of social media channel strategy, content trends, and influencer marketing best practices.
- Experience in managing financial operations, including budget tracking and revenue forecasting.
