Olive Tree Care is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Registered Manager to lead our brand-new children’s home in Hull. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape a high-quality, new child-centred service, supported by a committed strategic leadership team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing the home, building a strong staff team and achieving the highest standards of care. The primary responsibility as Registered Manager will be to oversee operations and the management of the residential Children’s Home, with priority on ensuring all legislation is adhered to, regulations and best practice to meet OFSTED requirements. The post holder is pivotal in embedding a safe and supportive environment required for the young people, which will assist in their well-being and development.
Responsibilities- Management: Responsible for the overall management and efficient running of the residential children’s home, ensuring it operates in line with regulatory standards, organisational policies, and best practices.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection: Maintain a safe and secure home environment in accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures; address safeguarding concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Staff Management: Oversee staff management and the smooth running of the residential children’s home, ensuring staff implement and embed all required regulatory standards, policies and best practices.
- Care Planning Implementation: Prepare individual care plans for each young person in the home, in consultation with stakeholders (social workers, parents, guardians); ensure plans are reviewed and updated as needed to meet evolving needs.
- Compliance Regulation: Embed and adhere to all relevant legislation, regulations, and inspection frameworks, including Ofsted requirements.
- Financial Management: Manage the residential home budget, allocating resources to meet the needs of children and young people while maintaining financial sustainability.
- Working with Partners: Develop and maintain effective partnerships with external agencies and professionals (local authorities, schools, health partnerships).
- Quality Assurance and Improvement: Implement systems to monitor and improve the quality of care; strive for continuous improvement for the benefit of young people.
- Experience: Essential - Two years of experience working with children in a residential care environment within the last five years, including at least one year in a management role.
- Driving Licence: Driving licence required.
- Right to Work in the UK: Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Probationary period: 6 months.
Other notes: The role involves a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as part of full-time hours.
