Hours: 36–48 hours per week, 7am–7pm shifts, including weekends and rota-based working

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for compassionate and resilient Support Workers to support children and young people within specialist residential services. The services support young people with emotional and behavioural needs, complex needs, and additional vulnerabilities, within safe, structured, and nurturing environments. About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people within a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development at all times. You will support young people with daily routines, emotional regulation, education, independence skills, and community engagement, while promoting positive behaviours and maintaining professional boundaries. The role requires a proactive and resilient individual who can work effectively as part of a team, manage challenging situations calmly, and contribute to creating a stable and supportive environment for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people with complex needs
  • Support individuals with emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, and daily living skills
  • Promote independence, wellbeing, and community engagement
  • Follow risk management, safeguarding, and behaviour support plans
  • Build positive and therapeutic relationships with young people
  • Maintain accurate records and incident documentation
  • Support young people attending appointments and community activities
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and internal staff
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment

About You

  • Qualified Support Worker with relevant health and social care experience
  • Previous experience supporting young people with complex needs, challenging behaviours, autism, or mental health needs
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards) desirable
  • Confident working within high-risk or therapeutic environments
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Willingness and confidence to drive service users’ vehicles when required
  • Strong communication, resilience, and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work flexibly across days, nights, waking nights, and sleep-ins
  • Committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred support
