As a member of our Professional Services team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to plan, conduct, and analyse user research that informs the design and delivery of highâquality digital services. You will play a critical role in understanding user behaviours, identifying pain points, and ensuring that solutions are grounded in evidence. With a strong commitment to userâcentred design and continuous improvement, you will help shape meaningful digital transformation for our clients.
Employment type: Fullâtime, Fixedâterm contract (12 months). Location: Remote across the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Lead user research activities across the full project lifecycle, from discovery through to live service optimisation.
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research using a range of appropriate methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, observations, diary studies).
- Identify and recruit representative users, ensuring ethical and inclusive research practices.
- Analyse research findings, synthesise insights, and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations for delivery teams.
- Work collaboratively with designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure research insights directly shape service design and decisionâmaking.
- Create and maintain user personas, journey maps, service maps, and other artefacts that communicate user needs and behaviours.
- Advocate for userâcentred design, accessibility, and evidenceâbased decisionâmaking throughout all stages of delivery.
- Contribute to continuous discovery practices and help teams iterate services based on research insights and usability testing outcomes.
- Ensure all research activities adhere to relevant ethical, privacy, and accessibility standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience conducting user research within multiâdisciplinary digital delivery teams, ideally in complex or largeâscale environments.
- Strong knowledge of userâcentred design principles and experience applying them to digital products and services.
- Experience selecting and applying the most appropriate research methods to meet project objectives and constraints.
- Ability to analyse complex qualitative and quantitative data and present insights in a compelling and accessible way.
- Familiarity with iterative, agile, or scaled agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, capable of engaging confidently with strategic stakeholders and supporting evidenceâbased decisionâmaking.
- Experience mapping user journeys, service processes, and behavioural patterns to support service design and improvement.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple research activities simultaneously, and operate in fastâpaced delivery environments.
