Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 DOE
Location: Telford, covering Shropshire, Shrewsbury, Staffordshire and Wolverhampton
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working flexibly to include every weekend, afternoons, evenings.
We’re on the lookout for a Children & Young People Support Worker to join our vibrant team at Nexus Fostering in Norwich. What You’ll Do
- Be a role model, mentor, and champion for the children in your care.
- Make an impact: Help children and young people grow, heal, and reach their full potential.
- Build connections: Engage with young people through weekly activities, outings, or even at school, working one-on-one to support their growth and development, helping them thrive and enjoy positive experiences.
- Fostering fun: Help plan and run exciting activity days for foster families and young people, creating memories that last a lifetime.
- Supporting foster carers: Provide practical assistance and support to help create stable, supportive, and nurturing home environments.
- Spreading the word: Join us at events to inspire prospective foster carers and conduct visits to new fostering households.
We’re searching for someone who:
- Has a passion for working with children: You bring energy, empathy, and a creative spark to every interaction.
- Is experienced and compassionate: You’ve worked with children, especially those with additional needs (ASD, GDD, nonverbal) or challenging behaviours, and you understand the impact of trauma.
- Is flexible and adventurous: Comfortable working afternoons, evenings, and weekends to meet the needs of children and young people.
- Is a driver with a can-do attitude: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
- Fun and outgoing: You love working with young people and know how to connect with them on their level.
- Energetic and proactive: Ready to dive into activities and bring creativity to your work.
- Is willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
