Traffic Planning Operator
An exciting Traffic Planning Operator role with a friendly, well-established transport business in Manchester.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone with a background in transport who's confident dealing with drivers, comfortable helping plan routes, and happy getting stuck into administration alongside the operational side of the business.
My client has built a genuinely friendly, close-knit office, and you'll be a key part of keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.
The role
You'll be working closely with drivers and the wider team, monitoring on-time deliveries, keeping customers updated, and supporting with compliance and administration.
Full training is given on their in-house systems, so what matters most is transport experience and a genuinely organised approach.
- Inputting customer jobs onto the TOPS system (full training given)
- Monitoring on-time deliveries and communicating any delays or issues to customers
- Notifying Port Agents and Shipping Lines of export and empty (M/T) loads due at port
- Ensuring loads are booked correctly with the ports
- Assisting with planning routes for drivers as and when needed
- Responding to customer requests for PODs and interchange documentation
- Investigating detention issues and reporting findings to the Depot Manager
- Checking fuel receipts against the FMS system and investigating discrepancies
- Supporting the Fleet Manager with fleet and compliance administration
- Downloading driver and vehicle tachograph data and uploading to Smart Analysis
- Completing driver attendance records and Working Time Directive (WTD) data
- Maintaining driver holiday records and processing driver timesheets
- Checking supplier invoices against purchase order numbers
