An established and growing precision engineering company in Hayes is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join its inspection team on a permanent basis.
The company operates a busy subcontract machining facility producing precision components for demanding industries including Aerospace, MOD and Commercial Engineering.
With continued investment, a strong order book and further growth planned, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector looking for a secure, long-term position within a well-established engineering business.
As an Aersoapce/ CNC Quality Inspector you will be responsible for
- You’ll be responsible for inspecting precision machined components throughout the manufacturing process, working closely with the machining and production teams to ensure components meet drawing and customer requirements.
- The position will involve a combination of manual dimensional inspection and CMM inspection, with access to a well-equipped inspection department.
- First-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components.
- Dimensional inspection using verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other conventional measuring equipment.
- Setting and operating CMM inspection equipment.
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
- Checking components against tight tolerances and customer specifications.
- Recording inspection results and maintaining relevant quality documentation.
What We're Looking For in the succesful Aerospace Quality Inspector
We're looking for somebody with a strong background in Quality Inspection within a precision engineering or CNC machining environment.
You don't need to tick every box.
A strong precision engineering inspector with excellent conventional inspection skills and the right technical background will still be considered, particularly if you're looking to further develop your CMM experience.
Ideally, as a the succesful aerospace Quality Inspector you'll have
- Previous experience inspecting CNC machined or precision engineered components.
- Strong dimensional inspection skills.
- Confidence working from technical engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of tolerances and precision measurement.
- Experience using conventional inspection equipment.
- CMM experience would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to set and operate CMM equipment would be particularly beneficial.
- CMM programming experience would be a strong advantage.
- Experience within Aerospace, Defence/MOD or another high-precision industry would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of GD&T and First Article Inspection would also be advantageous.
