The Wheatsheaf Inn is a quintessential Cotswold Pub, offering a seasonally changing 'Best of British' menu along with premium wines, lagers, ales and spirits and 14 individually appointed guest bedrooms. Our large garden is operational all year round, bustling in the warmer weather, serviced via our outdoor bar and wood fired pizza oven and then offering a covered, heated area during the colder seasons.
As a Head Chef, you will own the vision, champion local produce, and create your own menus. Working alongside our General Manager, you will have at least 2 years experience running a successful kitchen and a passion for the Cotswolds. You will be obsessed with fresh ingredients and high standards, creating inspiring seasonal menus, developing original recipes, and leading the revival of one of the region's most loved premium pubs with rooms.
We believe every pub should be different, meaning you'll write your own recipes that match the food vision of your business using fresh seasonal ingredients. The food vision could showcase local produce, country pub classics, seafood, small plates and sharers, or dry-aged meat. Each pub is different, and it’s up to you as head chef to put your own creative stamp on that vision. We work with fresh, seasonal produce, so the menu should constantly evolve to showcase these fantastic ingredients when they are at their best.

What we look for in a Head Chef:
- Someone that can inspire a team, bring out potential, and lead by example while developing, costing, and producing fresh seasonal menus for various revenue streams within the business.
- Experience championing excellent service through quality food either as a Head Chef or in the position of Sous Chef.
- Ability to manage the kitchen staff rota, training, and all health and safety effectively at all times.
- Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills necessary to maintain effective controls regarding both GP and labour.
- A pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams.
