OLG Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Risk Engineer to work for a major client based in Immingham. This is a full time contract position, with the view to go permanent after 1 month.
Job Summary
The Project Controls Risk Engineer will deliver the wide Project Control responsibilities with particular focus on risk control and management processes. Will be required to support the Project Controls Manager in the wider control’s environment including cost, planning and production control and reporting. Will maintain the works/cost/risk breakdown structures, align risks with P6 activities (using Primavera) and be able to assess, model, maintain and report risks and trends in collaboration with the package managers and commercial managers identifying baseline deviations and facilitating corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and developing the WBS, CBS & RBS (Work, Cost and Risk Breakdown Structures).
- Facilitate the implementation of the general Project Controls Management processes with particular focus on the Risk Management system.
- Implementing the risk management procedures and keeping the Risk Management Plan up-to-date.
- Coordinating the linkage between the programme, the estimate, the cost and the risk management systems by using the project’s software (i.e., P6 and Prism).
- Developing and maintaining regularly the project risk register producing periodic risk reports and facilitating risk management to SPMs.
- Dealing with variations and change control process to maintain the performance measurement baseline.
- Conducting cost checks, analysing trends and identifying risks. Helping the risk owners to assess the risk costs.
- Liaising with the different stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to the processes.
- Supporting with the preparation of presentation materials for the Performance Measurement Updates with particular focus on risk.
Technical Skills And Competencies
- Proven ability to use IT systems and advanced Excel.
- Relevant experience with various types of contract and compiling documentation.
- Experience of different techniques for project planning, risk management, cost control.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Knowledge of EVA techniques.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and cost risk assessment.
- Communication (written and verbal).
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the team and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet key deadlines.
- Ability to analyse problems and propose effective solutions.
- Able to work collaboratively and lead a team.
Qualifications, Certifications And Experience
- Relevant experience in Cost, Planning & Risk management environments.
- Relevant experience in construction and desirable understanding of other functions within Project Controls.
