OLG Recruitment are recruiting for an Engineering Services Manager to work for a client based in the Humber Region. This is a full time, permanent role. We are ideally looking for someone who has an E&I background and has ideally worked in hazardous areas. You may be required to travel to Aberdeen within the first 6 months.
Role Description: The Engineering Services Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading a new engineering services team based in Hull. This role requires a technically experienced electrical engineer with expertise in hazardous (ATEX rated) zones with demonstrable experience in onshore worksite delivery. The manager will be responsible for both strategic and operational activities, including business development, project delivery, and team building. They will collaborate closely with the existing team in Aberdeen to deliver workscopes to clients and ensure the successful establishment of the Hull team. Strong leadership, project management, and collaboration skills are essential.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop a sustainable portfolio of opportunities.
- Manage P&L account ensuring profitability in line with company strategy and budgets set.
- Preparation and delivery of annual budgets.
- Project manage the controlled delivery of work scopes via existing group resources in the interim between inception and development of a dedicated team.
- Identify the requirements for and build a team with competencies and behaviours appropriate to delivery requirements.
- Ensure that central technical authorities are involved in and consulted for scopes of work as appropriate.
- Ensure the team are accountable for work scopes.
- Analyse and understand the contractual terms & conditions and commercial requirements for each Project and ensure commercial risk is managed.
- Manage, plan, validate, and authorise all Engineering Services Pre-Quals, ITTs, Project and Contract submissions, engineering deliverables, design installation and commissioning activities.
- Project manage site staff, agency and sub-contracted personnel to ensure effective delivery.
Project Planning:
- Communicate regularly with the client/D&D planning/logistic departments on scope progress.
- Attend the daily/weekly client/D&D planning meetings.
- Ensure resources meet mobilisation requirements.
Project Management & Cost Controls:
- Prepare budgets and cost time analysis as required.
- Planning and progress and financial management & reporting.
- Identify cost saving opportunities for the Company and clients.
- Maintain communications with onshore/offshore internal/external teams.
- Monitor, analyse and communicate Key Performance Indicators attainment.
- Gather lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.
Core Training & Competencies:
- Minimum Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Degree or demonstrable experience of Engineering Project Management.
- Demonstrable experience with projects / modifications and inspection and maintenance programmes. Awareness / experience of COMPEX training and technical delivery.
- Experience of business to business client relationship building.
- Management & leadership training.
- IR35 experience / awareness / training.
