OLG Recruitment are currently looking for an Electrical Project Supervisor for our client located in Grimsby. This is a full time permanent position.

As the Electric Project Supervisor you will be required to Oversee and manage some of our electrical projects at a site level. The ideal candidates must have Hazardous Area experience and have the ability to work away from home Monday to Friday.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage & deliver the company’s contracts safely, to a high degree of quality, on time & profitably whilst maintaining client satisfaction. Ensure compliance of health & safety including relevant legislation & particular client requirements & housekeeping. Bring all concerns of safety, quality, commercial or technical matters to the attention of the Senior Representative immediately
  • Carry out safety Site Audits with the Auditing & Monitoring documents provided in the job pack. Report & review findings with appropriate Senior representative
  • Hold weekly site update meetings to ensure any grievances/queries are resolved promptly & to roll out “Tool Box Talks” as required. Instruct all those under your direction to notify you immediately where potential disputes are identified
  • Set up site or office-based establishment in a professional manner as per procedures ensuring communications and systems are up and running along with the necessary welfare requirements
  • In conjunction with the F.S.R. review the scope of works document in detail. Ensure a clear understanding of the documentation, the content, & the procedures to be followed during the various stages of the project.
  • Establish the nature & content of site documentation & ensure that all site records & project notices are understood, maintained & delivered to the appropriate parties e.g., Interpreting engineering drawings, schedules, vendor specifications & ‘Red pen’ As built construction drawings & documentation etc. Ensure that you have been provided with all the project documentation & that this is available on site
  • Establish with the F.S.R & client who is authorised to instruct & sign for site variations & changes to the works. Obtain written instructions from the client & Project Engineer to commencing any additional work, changes, or overtime. If you need support on this liaise with the Senior Representative or HQ. Do not proceed with a variation until written permission gained from the client and F.S.R.
  • Where appropriate obtain daily signatures from the client to record the hours, plant, materials, & transport & sub-contract expenditures
  • Plan, direct, provide information & co-ordinate the company’s personnel, plant, materials, transport, & specialist sub-contractors. Ensure strategy is formulated to promote acceptable & efficient usage of the company’s resources including all resource, plant, materials& transport ensuring the most efficient use of i.e., least amount of vehicles as possible, maintaining plant list & report any non-conformances to HQ
  • Provide periodic information (as requested) to the F.S.R.to enable them to raise invoices for all works carried out including all variations to the works. Provide administration staff with timely, accurate information as requested
  • Plan & maintain regular meetings with the client & project senior company representative to discuss current & future resources & look ahead, discuss any difficulties or shortfalls, & define effective methods of mitigation or solution. Anticipate & act to mitigate disputes & differences before they occur by regular reviews with the F.S.R. & the client
  • Set objectives/tasks for field operatives & ensure that they are achieved as per the times given within the estimate and project program. Time keeping is extremely important in our field of work. The Project Supervisor will ensure site hours are worked as stipulated by the F.S.R. – any changes to this are to be authorised and highlighted. Work with individuals under your supervision & establish methods to achieve the best output from your team.
  • Coach team members under your supervision & highlight any persistent poor performance. Identify the need for training & highlight any competency concerns to the F.S.R.
  • Ordering of materials & plant are per company policies, checking that they are as per specification, safe to use & within budget. That a site plant list is available and to ensure that they are all, were relevant returned to HQ in a clean and compliant condition, booked in and placed in the appropriate storage place as per company policies
  • The handover of the work or site to the client is paramount to our quality plan & therefore the Project Supervisor hall make themselves aware of the full requirements in order to plan well in advance to ensure all is completed including any special requirements. Handover may take place during a handover meeting following an inspection of the site
  • Ensure that complaints including ‘snagging’ elements are communicated to the Project Engineer immediately so that they can be dealt with quickly & in full compliance with the company’s procedures
  • To be hands-on installing or inspecting with small to large projects when required

Qualifications Minimum

  • 5+ year post relevant experience
  • C&G/NVQ Electrical L3, L4, HNC (as stated in AE & T JIB Grading’s below) are preferable but a mixture of experience & qualification will be utilised if not all criteria are met on a case-by-case basis
  • C&G 2394/5 or equivalent
  • Technician or Approved Electrical or equivalent status based on the work requirements
  • BS7671 18th Edition or latest
  • DSEAR/ATEX Awareness
  • CompEx 01-04 & preferably 05 & 6 (or equivalent)
  • Current Safety Passport
  • Current Driving license – please inform of any penalty points
  • In date Passport
  • Physically & Medically fit to work on grade & high levels
  • Good eyesight (with glasses or lenses as necessary)
  • No criminal record or any misdemeanour’s pending
