We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Commissioning Engineer to join our high-performance team on a Data Centre Project in Wales. In this role, you'll be responsible for point to graphics testing using ignition SCADA.
The Role:
- Panel layout and component review relating to I/O and Instrument termination points
- Regular Progress Reports
- Provide cable markers as required
- RAMS to be created to cover working at height, working with hand tools etc.
- Commissioning & Testing: Execute Level 1–4 testing of systems, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- PLC Automation & Troubleshooting: Develop, debug, and refine PLC logic for BMS control systems; perform Modbus testing in line with register mapping specifications.
- Sensor & Field Device Support: Troubleshoot temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors, as well as transmitters, to ensure accurate system feedback.
- Test Script Development: Create, document, and execute detailed test scripts to validate system functionality and performance across all commissioning levels.
- Point-to-Graphic Verification: Prepare and review point lists (both hardwired and high-level interfaces), controls, alarm logs, trend data, and graphic screens.
- Wiring & Start-Up Checks: Perform physical wiring inspections, verify field device integrity, and support system start-ups and plant integration.
- System Diagnostics: Identify, analyze, and resolve system faults; recommend fixes and improvements; offer technical support to wider project teams.
Requirements:
- A technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- 2+ years’ experience with programming PLCs, or automation systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and system architecture documents.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK as no sponsorship is provided.
