This is an exciting time to join Children’s Services in Oldham. We’re looking for a committed and motivated person to provide high quality professional support to frontline children’s social workers and managers to help families keep children safe. In this role you will:

  • Send out invitations, prepare for and minute complex social care meetings and distribute key documents to professionals and families.
  • Oversee the workflow management of other business services employees.
  • Provide administrative support, working to competing and changing priorities and demands.
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service, working as part of a team to achieve service objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain a range of financial and budget information and complete audits of financial payment requests.
  • Use Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Programs and internal systems and communicate with a variety of audiences.
  • Securely manage confidential and sensitive information.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will be able to:

  • Experience of coordinating and minuting complex meetings, dealing with information that is distressing.
  • Good organisational skills and be able to work on own initiative, complete tasks to deadlines, re-prioritise own work, and that of the team, if necessary.
  • Experience of providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Communicate effectively and be confident to challenge when advising and supporting senior officers.
  • Experience of following financial procedures.
  • Experience of supervising others, and ensuring they complete tasks to agreed deadlines and to required quality standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be a flexible team player, able to work at pace with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations.
