We are looking for experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Residential Childcare Worker for one of our children’s residential care homes who shares our aspirations for children and young people in care in Oldham. You should be passionate about securing good outcomes for children, young people and families and have a sound knowledge of Legislation and Regulations for children’s homes.
Gemini House offers a Short Breaks Service for Children / young people with Additional and Complex Needs within an age range of 8 to 18 years. The home will accommodate up to six children / young people per stay for short breaks. The young people at Gemini House have a wide range of disabilities including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, sensory impairments, or Autistic spectrum disorders the post will require staff to support with personal care tasks, daily living skills and promoting the safeguard and welfare of the children.
The Children’s residential service supports the most vulnerable children and families from our communities and requires a well organised committed individual to lead from the front ensuring our children are safeguarded and managed in an individual bespoke way.

As part of the control, and guidance to young people resident within the home that is consistent with the Homes Statement of Purpose, Children standards and regulations 2015, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, The Leaving Care Act 2000 and Oldham Council Policies and Procedures.
Oldham Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The successful applicant will be required to register to the DBS Update Service to enable the Council to undertake rechecks throughout your employment. The cost to register is £13 and can be claimed back upon commencement to the role but will not be refunded if you do not accept the offer of employment.
