The role will support the delivery of a wide range of projects and activities as part of Oldham’s Public Health Team. This includes time-limited projects requiring rapid mobilisation with an initial focus on drug and alcohol harms, treatment and recovery.
The post holder will work within the Public Health Team. They will support the coordination and delivery of programmes which support individuals, reduce health inequalities or deliver improved health and wellbeing outcomes across our population. The postholder will work closely with a range of stakeholders including service providers, public sector partners and voluntary and community sector organisations to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This role will require effective partnership working and collaboration with a range of agencies and partners across Oldham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in the co-ordination, and delivery of public health projects, which improve service delivery, reduce health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Oldham residents
- Support the development of new initiatives that will have a positive impact on improving health outcomes
- To lead and contribute to the strategic development and commissioning of services, working closely with key colleagues within public health and others such as procurement
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will be able to:
- Experience of delivering public health programmes within a local authority
- Experience of undertaking a range of co-ordination and monitoring activities to successfully deliver and support programmes of work
- Knowledge and experience of following financial procedures, monitoring budgets, resolving budget queries and reporting expenditure updates
- Experience of undertaking commissioning procedures, for example procurement, contract review and monitoring
