The Governors of Bare Trees Primary School are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our warm and welcoming school nursery to support children with SEND. This is a wonderful opportunity to support young children at a crucial stage of their development within a nurturing and stimulating environment.
You will work closely with the Early Years team and SENDCo to support children with SEND aged 3 to 4, helping them to learn, grow, and thrive through play-based activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities
- Provide individual and small-group support
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Support children with personal care routines where required
- Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
Bare Trees is a large primary school with strong links to the local community. We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children
- Has experience working in an early years or nursery setting (desirable)
- Holds a relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3) or is willing to work towards one
- Has good communication and teamwork skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Bare Trees Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other relevant checks with statutory bodies. The school will carry out an online search as part of their due-diligence for all shortlisted candidates in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025. It is an offence to apply for this role if you have been barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
Salary: Grade 3, pt 6-11
Contract: Fixed Term
Hours: Part Time, 3 days per week; Wednesday to Friday.
