Role Overview

To be part of a successful Facilities Management Team to provide an effective portering service to Oldham Council assets to include Civic Centre, Spindles Workspace, JR Clynes and the new Market and Event Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying supplies and furniture
  • Electric light replacement
  • Flag flying
  • General security including locking and unlocking doors
  • Attendance at Council Meetings
  • Assist with election duties including the set up of polling stations each year and maintain polling booths
  • Understand equipment associated with efficient delivery of a Porter service for the Civic Centre and other Town Centre buildings when required
  • Assist with gritting the pathways in adverse weather conditions to ensure staff safe when accessing the buildings
  • Organise meeting requirements, ensuring each meeting or event has appropriate I.T. and correct furniture layout, sourcing required services as necessary
