Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a statutory social work team who are responsible for Assessment, CIN and Child Protection and Court work
  • Ensure high-quality, child-centred practice and effective risk management
  • Provide supervision, support, and performance management to staff
  • Maintain oversight plans, ensuring clear outcomes for children
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support effective practice
  • Monitor performance, quality of practice, and drive continuous improvement

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualification experience in statutory children's social care
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and thresholds
  • Demonstrable ability to manage risk and make sound decisions in complex situations
  • Experience of performance management, quality assurance and driving improvement
  • Excellent communication and partnership working skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice and continuous professional development
