The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of Qualified Upper Key Stage 2 Class Teacher at Hollinwood Academy. This position is on the Teachers’ pay scale + SEN (£2,787 per annum) and will commence in September 2026.
Hollinwood Academy is part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust and provides a broad and balanced curriculum that enables children and young people from reception to Key Stage 4 to access creative learning opportunities tailored to meet their individual needs. We have worked hard to continue to be at the forefront of successful, innovative curriculum design, providing children and young people with autism and/or speech and language difficulties with their full entitlement.
We welcome applications from primary practitioners with a strong background in Upper Key Stage 2 National Curriculum. The successful candidate will:
- Have knowledge and experience of the upper KS2 National Curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning.
- Have knowledge of autism and an understanding of ways in which children with autism learn differently to their neurotypical peers.
- Be able to use their knowledge and understanding of autism to adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of children with ASC.
- Use knowledge of ASC strategies to adapt learning to meet the needs of all children.
- Have an up-to-date understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Be able to use a wide range of communication tools to communicate with children and young people across the school.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation by delivering imaginative, adaptive lessons that meet the individual needs of children, in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Present with the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with children with a range of complex needs.
- Have experience in the enhancement of children’s progress and raising attainment and achievement in all children.
- Have experience of assessing and tracking children’s progress to ensure all learners are making progress.
- Foster good relationships with other staff, children, parents and the wider community.
- Be hardworking, organised and proactive in their professional development.
Although based initially at our Roman Road site, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group. Candidates are welcome to arrange a visit.
