Position Overview

Contract: Permanent | Salary: £25,989 per annum | Hours: 36.66 per week | Location: Spindles Workspace | Ref: 001519

To be part of a successful Facilities Management Team to provide an effective portering service to Oldham Council assets including Civic Centre, Spindles Workspace, JR Clynes and the new Market and Event Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying supplies and furniture
  • Electric light replacement
  • Flag flying
  • General security, including locking and unlocking doors
  • Attendance at Council Meetings
  • Assist with election duties, including the setup of polling stations each year and responsibility for upkeep and replacement of polling booths
  • Have a full understanding of all equipment associated with efficient delivery of a Porter service for the Civic Centre and other Town Centre buildings when required
  • Assist with gritting the pathways in adverse weather conditions to ensure staff are safe when accessing the buildings
  • Assist in organising meeting requirements, ensuring each meeting or event has appropriate I.T. and correct furniture layout, sourcing required services as deemed necessary
