Safeguarding and Well-being Education Officer

Salary £31,920 to £34,040 per annum plus excellent benefits

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated education practitioner to join our Safeguarding & Well-being team. The team is responsible for ensuring effective safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students. Our purpose is to create an environment where students feel safe and can achieve their full potential.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Able

  1. Support in the day-to-day operational safeguarding and welfare provision for the college.
  2. Effectively advise, signpost, and triage learners\’ access to the Safeguarding and Well-being Team.
  3. Ensure all contacts with learners are up to date and accurate on the recording systems.
  4. Contribute to the development of the visibility of the Safeguarding & Well-being Team.
  5. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Educational Offer at Oldham College.
  6. Develop and deliver educational packages and resources tailored to individual learners\’ needs.
  7. Provide ongoing development towards Teaching for Excellence and Supporting for Excellence.
  8. Liaise with external agencies within the local and Greater Manchester Area to benefit our learners.

This is a very important role. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead emphasizes that at Oldham College, we believe all students deserve a rewarding educational experience that creates opportunities and leads to an exciting future. We are passionate about ensuring each student feels safe to achieve their full potential. We are expanding our team of safeguarding and welfare officers to promote safeguarding, prevent issues, and support emotional and mental wellbeing in a trauma-informed way.
