Part‑Time FE Sports Teacher (0.35 FTE)
Location: Oldham, UK
Based within a Professional Football Club Environment
Hours: 12–13 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday 1:30pm- 4:30pm (3 hours), Wednesday 9:30am - 4:30pm (6 hours), plus one additional afternoon for 3 hours (TBC).

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate Part‑Time FE Sports Teacher to join the education team within a professional football club environment in Oldham. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Academy football scholars aged 16–19, supporting both their academic and personal development alongside their football programme. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to Year 1 Scholars studying the BTEC Level 3 Sporting Excellence and Performance programme, while also supporting learners complete their Sport Apprenticeship programme (SEP). This role would suit an individual who has a genuine passion for sport and football, and who is committed to developing young players’ understanding of performance, professionalism, and personal progression.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver approximately 9 hours of engaging BTEC Level 3 lessons per week, to Year 1 Academy Scholars (aged 16–17).
- Support Year 1 Scholars in developing their sporting portfolios through apprenticeship sessions (2–3 hours weekly).
- Complete planning, preparation, marking, and assessment duties (1 hour allocated weekly).
- Maintain accurate learner records on the selected online platforms.
- Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback to Academy Head of Education.
- Attend department meetings to feedback essential education data.
- Contribute to Internal Verification and Quality Assurance processes.
- Work closely with an Additional Learning Support tutor to develop support plans for SEND Learners.
- Work collaboratively with academy and education staff as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 5).
- Experience teaching BTEC Level 3 qualifications (specifically Sport and Physical Activity units).
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Good understanding of Internal Verification processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- An FA Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a football academy environment.
- Experience teaching apprenticeship content.
- Experience of supporting Apprenticeship End Point Assessments.
- Experience supporting young footballers aged 16–19.
- Experience delivering the BTEC Sporting Excellence and Performance qualification.
- Experience working in dynamic and fast‑paced environments.
