The applicant should have significant experience in developing sales and building relationships ideally within the UK Water and Wastewater industry. In this respect a background in the solution selling of wastewater capital equipment along with spares and service and an excellent understanding of the needs of the municipal and industrial markets, their structure and key customers would be strongly beneficial. Along with a proven ability to achieve sales, the ability to be self-motivated is a prerequisite.
Good communication skills, interpersonal contact, and experience in ERP/CRM systems for customer relationship management and financial control are essential.
Duties:
- Formulate and implement a plan to achieve/exceed the sales budget within the designated area. This includes lead generation and acquisition, assessment of client needs, managing product/client trials, quotation, follow up quote to order, sale of equipment/solution and aftersales service requirements via Standard Contract or NEC 3/4 Framework Contract terms.
- To manage the relationship with customers in the area, building partnerships as appropriate and ensuring customers’ needs are identified and satisfied. The use and upkeep of Microsoft CRM Database is an essential tool for the role.
- Promote solutions to technical and commercial stakeholders, identifying specific opportunities, defining customer requirements, negotiating terms and ensuring sales are subsequently closed.
- Complete all required sales reporting and Client Relationship Management documents.
- Act as a key member of the senior management team of the Business providing necessary support and input, particularly in relation to Sales, Marketing, and business development.
- Work closely with the Proposals and Capital Delivery team, and other office-based teams to ensure seamless service to our customers and delivering growth in sales.
- Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to foster interest with new clients.
- Participating in industry trade shows, events, and targeted marketing campaigns.
- Gathering and reporting client feedback, market trends, and field insights to help adapt and fine-tune the offerings to better meet the needs of the UK&I markets.
- To apply the requirements of the BS EN ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 as appropriate within your area of responsibility.
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety and Environmental aspects affecting self, employees and projects in your control.
