What You’ll Get to Do
- The Production Engineer is responsible for analysing project documentation and inputting customer sales orders into the Order Management System.
- Provides all material requirements and instructions to the Manufacturing department to purchase, manufacture, and ship sales orders.
- Confirms costs of ordered materials are within original contracted scope.
- Creates and edits sales orders in accordance with selections of ordered products and options contractually agreed to by the customer.
- Ensures quality and accuracy of data and documents generated while meeting order schedule requirements for project release.
- Works with Project Management to communicate order issues to external customers in a timely manner to quickly resolve questions or issues on job definition.
- Provides and communicates with internal customers all documentation and information to purchase and manufacture sales orders.
- Solicits quotes, through the procurement department or vendors, for accurate pricing on panel, breakform, and security screens.
- Generates and provides for Purchasing and Manufacturing job-specific technical drawings for breakform, fabrication, or glass.
- Maintains accurate files and record keeping for the Finance and Accounting departments as it relates to sales orders.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in fenestration industry ideal.
- Experience in Soft Tech V6 order management system a plus.
- Associates degree in technical discipline like Engineering or equivalent experience in area relating to order processing or project administration.
- Ability to read and understand technical, product, and construction drawings.
- Computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, CAD.
- Excellent keyboarding skills.
- Excellent math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
