Our team is looking to recruit a friendly and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to assist with delivering quality meals to our residents in the care home. This is a perfect opportunity to gain some experience within the kitchen or perhaps the development of a new career in catering. You will be helping to ensure that our residents' dietary requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chef with the preparation and delivery of meals for residents.
  • Prepare fresh ingredients for various meals.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen area that adheres to Health and Safety regulations and the exemplary standards of the home.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
  • Clean all crockery, cutlery and food preparation equipment.
  • Assist in preparation of meals for service.
  • Prepare food and ingredients for service.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience within a health care setting is not essential; however, may prepare you better for the role.
  • A caring and compassionate nature.
  • Catering/cooking experience.
  • Food Safety knowledge.
  • The desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.
  • Good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
