We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teacher to join our fantastic team at Pear Tree High School. This is a permanent, full time role on Teaching terms, offering MPS-UPS salary plus SEN allowance. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher with a PE specialism to join our team. This role combines the responsibilities of a class teacher with a subject focus on Physical Education, supporting the delivery and development of PE across the school. You will play a key role in promoting physical wellbeing, engagement, and inclusion through a broad, adapted PE curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our learners. This role involves fulfilling the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, as outlined in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, while making a positive impact on the learning and wellbeing of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote the progress, wellbeing, and engagement of all students.
- Plan and deliver personalised, high-quality lessons tailored to a range of SEND needs.
- Lead and support the delivery of PE across the school, adapting activities to ensure accessibility and inclusion for all learners.
- Develop and implement a broad, engaging PE curriculum that promotes physical health, teamwork, and confidence.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policy.
- Support colleagues in delivering PE through guidance, resources, and modelling best practice.
- Participate in interventions to raise student achievement and engagement.
- Collaborate with internal and external agencies to support students’ learning and development.
- Act as a role model in professional practice, demonstrating high standards of teaching, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
- Contribute to enrichment activities, including sports clubs and wider physical development opportunities.

Essential Attributes
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), experience teaching students with SEND desirable.
- A specialism or strong interest in Physical Education.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
