About The Role

Working Hours: 35 Hours per week

Contract Type: Full time / Temporary (24 Months)

Additional Payments: Essential car user allowance

This role is subject to:

  • Legal right to Work: In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment.
  • References: Where possible we require 3 years' history.
  • Essential Car Documentation: This post is a designated Essential Car User. Therefore, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance: This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The Leaving Care Service provides a statutory service to young people aged 16–25 years who are, or have been, Looked After by Manchester City Council. The service is delivered through a community hub model, ensuring young people receive coordinated, accessible, and holistic support within their local communities. The approach promotes independence, resilience, and long‑term stability by bringing together partner agencies, local resources, and trusted professionals around each young person.

About the Candidate

The Personal Advisor will play a key role in supporting young people with their transition to adulthood and assist them to live an independent life in their community. The Community Hub provides open access support to care‑experienced young people from aged 16 to ensure the right guidance, advice and assistance is there for our young people, whenever they need us.
