We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant Level 4 (SEN) to join our fantastic team at Prospect House Primary Specialist School. We're looking for:
- A highly qualified Teaching Assistant with extensive experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, as well as those with communication challenges and severe, profound, or complex learning needs.
- Experience planning and leading teaching and learning activities, with strong skills in understanding and addressing diverse pupil needs.
- Numeracy and Literacy skills to level 2 (GCSEs grades 9 to 4/A*-C) or equivalent or higher and an NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.
Responsibilities:
- Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities across school.
- Plan, prepare, deliver learning programmes and support to individual students, small groups and whole classes under teacher guidance.
- Provide support to pupils requiring additional help to overcome learning barriers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide cover for whole classes during teacher short-term absence, including planning, preparation, assessment and reporting.
- Assess student needs and use specialist skills to support learning.
- Establish productive working relationships with students, and act as a positive role model.
- Encourage cooperative interaction and engagement in activities.
- Assist in developing and implementing individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans.
- Participate in assessment to identify students in need of support, provide objective feedback and reports.
- Record and provide feedback on progress, achievement, behaviour and attendance systematically.
- Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting according to student responses to maximise curriculum access within an inclusive setting.
