We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Art and Design Technology to join our team at CHS South. This is a permanent, full-time role on Teaching terms, with a salary of MPS-UPS and a proposed start date of September 2026.
Main purpose of the job
The post holder will fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, as outlined in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. The post holder will meet the Professional Standards for Teachers appropriate to their career stage and exercise professional judgement in carrying out duties collaboratively. The key purpose of the role is to secure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement in Art and Design Technology, ensuring that all students make strong progress and are supported to reach their full potential. The post holder is accountable to the Curriculum Leader, Senior Leader, and Headteacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote the academic progress, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all students
- Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons across Art and Design Technology
- Contribute to the development of an ambitious Art and Design Technology curriculum
- Assess, monitor and report on progress, implementing timely interventions
- Work collaboratively within the Art and Design Technology team to support the school’s vision
- Reflect on and improve practice through professional development and shared expertise
- Support curriculum development, examinations and school improvement priorities
- Participate in meetings, duties and enrichment activities as required
- Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and external partners
