CATEC (Community Alarm Technology Enabled Care) offers a monitor and response service to over 4,900 vulnerable people citywide, aiming to keep people in their own homes and maintain independence. We support families, carers and work closely with NHS hospitals, community teams, care agencies and Adult Social Care.
As a Response Officer, you’ll help citizens maintain independence in their own homes, supported by a collaborative, caring team. The role is a dual role: call handling in a busy control room and responding in person to support citizens in their homes, including updating records, installing TEC devices, decision‑making, and multitasking across multiple IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Handle and triage approximately 25,000 calls per month on the digital call‑handling platform.
- Provide timely and confident decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment.
- Respond in person to citizens in their own homes, installing TEC devices where needed.
- Maintain accurate records using various IT systems.
- Operate within a 24‑hour rota, including early, late, night shifts, and weekends.
- Collaborate with Response Officers, Business Support Officers, and Installation Officers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must hold a full UK driving licence, capable of driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Confidence navigating multiple web‑based systems.
- Strong multitasking abilities and swift decision‑making skills.
