Qualifications – Mandatory
- PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent adult or FE teaching qualification; recent experience teaching adults.
- Relevant subject specialism for the curriculum area.
- Leadership and Management qualification or willingness to achieve one within two years.
- Assessment and verification qualification or willingness to achieve one within two years, with a track record of exceeding awarder expectations.
- Proficiency in e‑learning/learning technologies and Virtual Learning Environment systems.
- Strong ICT and administrative skills for data analysis and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Planning: Work with the Curriculum Manager to design a robust mandatory offer that propels learners toward employment and positive destinations; oversee mid‑ and long‑term strategy for English and maths.
- Learner Recruitment: Develop and deliver the enrolment approach, monitor recruitment data, and plan interventions to hit targets.
- Quality of Education: Lead tutors to deliver outstanding or good Ofsted‑standard teaching and assessment; manage internal QA and service improvement cycles.
- Team Leadership: Line‑manage and mentor teaching staff, ensuring engagement with cross‑service priorities such as e‑learning and the “Make it Happen” (CEIAG) approach.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with MAES curriculum teams and external employers to ensure accessible, relevant programmes.
- Teaching: Deliver a base load of instructional hours to meet learner needs.
