To provide strategic leadership, operational management, and legal oversight for Charlestown Community Primary School’s new 30-place specialised Resource Provision. The Resource Provision SENDCO will be responsible for the management of staff, allocation of resources, and the absolute legal compliance of all Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) within the unit. As a key member of the extended leadership team, the role ensures that the provision bridges specialist support with mainstream community life while maintaining an exemplary standard of inclusive education.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, hands‑on leader with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the NASENCO/NPQSENCO qualification, who has a proven track record in SEND leadership and statutory EHCP management. You will have deep expertise in supporting pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), alongside a practical understanding of trauma‑informed and restorative practices. This role requires an excellent communicator who can manage external agencies, lead and mentor a specialist support team, and confidently design bespoke learning pathways. If you are highly organised, eager to build a new provision from the ground up, and ready to make a direct impact on inclusive education, we want to hear from you.

At Charlestown Community Primary School, we offer a supportive, collaborative environment where your professional development and well‑being are prioritised. You will benefit from fully protected, non‑class‑based leadership time to confidently manage and shape this brand‑new provision. We provide access to high‑quality, continuous professional training—including advanced trauma‑informed and specialist SEND practices—alongside a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants and direct on‑site agency support. By joining us, you will work within a school culture that actively champions staff work‑life balance, provides clear pathways for career progression, and offers the rewarding opportunity to build an essential community resource from the ground up.

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. The above post will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This post is also subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and other pre‑employment checks where applicable. We strive to create a fair and inclusive workplace that is as diverse as the communities we serve. We positively welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
