This role is subject to:

  • 2 References – where possible, we require 3 years\’ history.

Qualifications:

Hold GCSE A*-C / 9-4 in English or equivalent (essential)

Hold GCSE A*-C / 9-4 in Maths or equivalent (essential)

Hold a teaching qualification, ideally to Level 5 or willingness to work towards

Casual Car Documentation: The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User, meaning car journeys may be necessary occasionally, but are not essential. You must hold a full valid driving license, provide your own car, and all appropriate documentation. An allowance per mile of business use will be provided.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance: This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. All information will be dealt with confidentially and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice. We have a policy on the employment of ex-offenders, available upon request.

Manchester Adult Education offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic employability Lecturer to join our Preparation for Work team. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing part-time adult courses, including sector-specific courses, employability courses, and qualifications from Entry 1 to Level 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver teaching and learning to at least a good or outstanding standard
  • Assess learners accurately against awarding body criteria
  • Take course leadership responsibilities
  • Participate in team meetings and working groups
  • Comply with quality assurance procedures and policies
  • Keep up to date in the subject area

This is a casual role teaching during daytimes and some evenings.

About The Candidate

As a Lecturer, you should:

  • Have a successful track record in delivering IT courses to various skills levels
  • Hold GCSE A*-C / 9-4 in English and Maths or equivalents
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification
  • Be committed to developing your teaching skills
  • Demonstrate professional competence, experience with diverse teaching strategies, and familiarity with e-learning platforms
