The Governors of the CLIC Trust wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant in our Early Years phase for Old Moat Primary School to cover a period of maternity leave. We are looking for someone who is a dedicated and highly motivated person, able to provide high quality support. Our Old Moat ethos, #All different, all achieving, is what we are all about. Our Old Moat curriculum is designed to equip all children with the knowledge and skills that they require to successfully navigate their way through life as residents of South Manchester and as active global citizens.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can deliver high quality teaching and learning in EYFS
  • Has a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and assessment
  • Can deliver specific support to raise the attainment of under-performing children and groups
  • Can confidently cover a whole class on an occasional, short-term basis
  • Can enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning
  • Is committed to high standards and able to assist in planning, preparation and delivery of lessons
  • Can work independently to deliver, monitor and evaluate the success of interventions
  • Can keep detailed notes on progress and attainment
  • Is able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
  • Will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
