Veterinary Surgeon – Old Golf House, Thetford & Watton, Salary up to Β£60k depending on experience

The Old Golf House are a forward-thinking, progressive practice, always striving for excellence, but we are also supportive, friendly, loyal and honest. Our amazing workplace culture was recognised by the BVA as the latest winners of the wellbeing awards (large practice), and everyone is encouraged to pursue their own interests. For example, we currently have nurses with anaesthesia certificates supporting our 6 other vets with diverse interests from exotics to internal medicine. Working across 2 first opinion small animal sites in the beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk countryside, you will have the autonomy in your role to really make a difference to your team and the client journey.

As a vet we want you to bring energy and enthusiasm along with confidence and professionalism and be able to share this with the team and clients. You should have a genuine desire to engage in QI projects. We are looking for someone who prides themselves on providing outstanding animal care with a consistently high level of service to their clients.

This position is available up to full time including a 1:4 share of the Saturday rota with no OOH, so please feel free to talk to us about flexible working that suits you!

This role will provide you with ample opportunity for progression and fulfilment, with comprehensive clinical management training also available and fully funded. You would be far from alone, with support from an excellent practice team including two experienced head nurses and a practice director all who strive to encourage a working environment with well-being, support and career progression at its core. We work within a large friendly network in our region with regular visits from cardiology and orthopaedics certificate holders.

What the team say:

Hannah (RVN) "It's a really lovely, supportive practice where I'm proud to be a part of the nursing team. We are always open to new ideas, working across teams to make improvements all of the time. As a practice we regularly go out for quiz nights, Sunday brunches and take part in mindfulness lunches"

Apart from working alongside a fantastic team, you get to enjoy the following benefits:

  • Competitive salary up to Β£60,000 DOE (pro rata)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (+ 1 additional day every year, up to 5 years), as well as the opportunity to sell/ buy up to 4 weeks holiday (pro rata)
  • VDS and RCVS fees covered
  • Generously encouraged and fully funded CPD – abundant opportunities within the business aided by internal and external development courses and programmes
  • Cycle to work scheme and subsidised gym membership
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption pay
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Pension scheme – automatic enrolment and completely hassle free
  • Access to First Aid for Mental Health and Wellbeing Champions across CVS and 300 trained CVS colleagues in this role
  • Colleague discount on pet products and treatments including free consults, cost price drugs and a discount to our online pharmacy, Animed

CVS is committed to being a fully inclusive place to work where all our colleagues are encouraged and supported to be themselves, where difference is celebrated and where everyone feels able to deliver their best.
