Paramedic in General Practice
There is now a wide acknowledgement of the benefits an experienced Paramedic can bring to General practice, therefore we are looking for an enthusiastic Paramedic practitioner for minor ailment clinics, acute home visits and patient Long term condition management.
We are offering a unique new direction to anyone who is looking for a progressive move from the usual thrill of blue lights.
The successful candidate will be working alongside GPs and other Health Care Professionals, carrying out patient assessments, supporting care plans, referring to community teams, updating records, safety netting, vaccinating and managing patients in their right environment.

Main duties of the job
Respond to patients in their own home alone or as part of a team
Assess patients who are at risk of admission to hospital
Support long term condition monitoring
Provide minor ailments clinics within the practice
Perform relevant tests:
Urine dipstick testing and sampling
Blood glucose testing
Blood pressure measurement
12 lead ECG
FEV1 / Peak-flow
Wound / infection swab test
Blood sampling for lab
(Appropriate training available to ensure competency if skills outside current scope of practice)
Make appropriate clinical decisions based of your assessment, medical history and suitable resources available.
