The independently owned Old Bank Hotel, centrally located on Oxford’s famous High, is a 5-star hotel with 43 luxury bedrooms, including our luxury rooftop bedroom and terrace with unrivalled views of Oxford’s famous skyline. The Old Bank is part of ‘The Oxford Collection’; a small, privately owned group of two luxury 5* hotels and apartments, three restaurants that consists of the Old Bank Hotel, the Old Parsonage Hotel, 36 St Giles, Parsonage Grill, Gees Restaurant & Bar, and Quod Restaurant & Bar.

Having recently undergone a complete refurbishment programme, we have 80 bedrooms across three iconic properties in central Oxford, with unrivalled views across the city’s beautiful skyline. The ideal candidate:

  • Have wide-ranging experience working in a similar luxury environment

Responsibilities of the Senior Receptionist:

  • Lead by example in terms of behaviour, attitude, appearance, knowledge, performance, hospitality and customer service.
  • Liaise with Front Office Manager/Assistant Front Office Manager to address and record any disciplinary matters when necessary.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with the company’s fire plan and health and safety policy.
  • Train and encourage the reception team to follow the daily checklists.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the hotel by interacting productively and effectively with all other departments.
  • Be equipped with the knowledge to provide information to our guests, about all hotel facilities and services, our sister hotel and restaurants, and relevant local information.
  • Employ diplomacy and tact when faced with guest comments or complaints in the absence of a senior manager.

We offer a sensible shift pattern, across a 40-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with an OTE up to £13.30 per hour, £27,664 per annum, including non-contractual service charge (tronc). Part-time hours may also be considered.
