The independently owned Old Bank Hotel, centrally located on Oxford’s famous High, is a 5-star hotel with 43 luxury bedrooms, including our luxury rooftop bedroom and terrace with unrivalled views of Oxford’s famous skyline. The Old Bank is part of ‘The Oxford Collection’; a small, privately owned group of two luxury 5* hotels and apartments, three restaurants that consists of the Old Bank Hotel, the Old Parsonage Hotel, 36 St Giles, Parsonage Grill, Gees Restaurant & Bar, and Quod Restaurant & Bar.

Having recently undergone a complete refurbishment programme, we have 80 bedrooms across three iconic properties in central Oxford, with unrivalled views across the city’s beautiful skyline. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a passion for hospitality, high-level attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude with a keen willingness to learn.
  • Be able to lead, inspire and motivate people.
  • Be excellent at interpersonal communication, coaching and teamwork.
  • Have high-level written English and strong IT literacy.
  • Have strong organisational skills.
  • Have previous managerial experience within a luxury hotel.

Assistant Front Office Manager responsibilities:

  • To represent and maintain the hotel’s high standards of personal presentation and behaviour, overseeing the procedures of the reception department, whilst on duty as a working member of the team.
  • To inspire a positive attitude to teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of reception and encouraging productive interaction with all other departments.
  • To liaise with the Front Office Manager & Head Housekeeper, ensuring the flow of communication necessary for the hotel’s efficient operation, at five-star standards.
  • To maintain the image and culture of the team, developing the skills of reception staff, in conjunction with the Front Office Manager.
  • To maximise the hotel’s occupancy through efficient handling of enquiries, together with good teamwork and communication.
  • To practise effective rate management through familiarisation with the hotel’s business trends, relevant to seasonal and local market forces.
  • To support the Front Office Manager in maintaining and updating Reception procedures; ensuring daily checklists are completed, for training and procedural purposes.

We offer a sensible shift pattern, across a 40-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with an OTE up to £33,000.00 per annum, including non-contractual service charge (tronc). Part-time hours may also be considered.
